Following Nicola Blackwood’s appointment as Minister for Innovation in the Department of Health and Social Care she resigned from the CaSE Board of trustees. The Board greatly valued her insights and experience as a former Member of Parliament and Minister, and seeks to replace her with someone who can also bring strong knowledge and experience of working in Parliament and Westminster, while – given CaSE’s political neutrality - not currently being a spokesperson or prominent advocate for a political party.

The CaSE Board meets four times a year in or close to London. The summer meeting is a full strategy awayday. Board members are also encouraged to attend the AGM and Annual Lecture, held in November/December.

The Board helps set strategy, ensures good governance, budgeting and financial management, and provides such other guidance and help as the Executive Director may request.

CaSE employs seven staff led by Dr Sarah Main as Executive Director.

The chair of the Board, Professor Graeme Reid, expects to step down in late 2020: the Board will then need to appoint a new chair from amongst its number.
