07/07/09 General Election Planning Meeting
CaSE hosted a meeting today of 30 of its members and other organisations in the STEM community to discuss plans for the general election. It was agreed that a collaborative approach, coordinated by CaSE and complemented by other organisation’s activities, will increase our ability to improve policy for science and engineering in the UK.

07/07/09 CaSE met with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine

06/07/09 HEFCE meeting.
CaSE met with David Sweeney, Director of Research, Innovation and Skills at HEFCE to discuss a range of issues including HEFCE budget cuts, provision for sciences not covered by the “STEM” ring-fence and development of the Research Excellence Framework.

02/07/09 Nick Dusic met with James Wilsdon, Head of Science Policy at the Royal Society, to discuss plans for the forthcoming general election.

02/07/09 CaSE met with staff of the House of Lords Science and Technology Committee to discuss future inquiries.
