Earlham Institute joins CaSE

19 Aug 2026

Campaign for Science and Engineering welcomes the Earlham Institute as its newest member organisation.

The Earlham Institute’s mission is to decode the scale and complexity of living systems so we can understand, benefit from, and protect life on Earth. They are developing and testing the most cutting-edge tools needed to decode the genomes of living organisms and make predictions about biology, with the aim to build a future where the biology of any organism can be understood by analysing its genome. Their research is multi-disciplinary, combining expertise in the life sciences with engineering, computational science, and biotechnology.

Since its founding in 2009, The Earlham Institute’s research has had impact on an international scale. An example of this is their work on wheat productivity and resilience, which is expected to be worth £2.7bn to the world economy over the next 25 years and already acts as the basis for international wheat breeding programs. This is just one example amongst multiple world-leading research projects that they are running.
