This submission, to the independent report into “Future frameworks for international collaboration on research and innovation”, focuses on the tangible and intangible benefits the UK has gained from being a member of the EU through the EU Framework Programmes. It also highlights the importance of comprehensively reviewing the effects of the EU Framework Programmes, to gain a deeper understanding of how the UK research base has engaged with, and benefited from, internationally-collaborative programmes.
