Given that it was announced capital spending would not be covered in this year’s Spending Round, we have decided to focus on the role that Departmental R&D investment plays in the UK research landscape. We are also strongly recommending that the new Government recommits to an R&D investment target to increase UK research intensity.

Earlier this month the UK Government published the Pioneer Prospectus setting out an alternative R&D programme should the UK not associate to Horizon Europe.
