The UK has a long history as a source of innovative ideas for tackling global societal challenges. But the R&D sector often struggles to articulate a compelling public narrative about this work.
To support advocates who want to connect with broader audiences about this topic, CaSE has carried out research into public attitudes to global-facing R&D and used these insights to develop practical and evidence-led advice.
This project, funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, saw CaSE convene a group of expert organisations to identify and address gaps in our understanding of public attitudes and collaboratively develop public messaging strategies.
Join this webinar to hear from the CaSE team and partners involved in the project. You will learn about:
- What the public thinks and feels about research that is conducted in the UK, but whose benefits may largely be felt outside the UK
- What messages resonate with the public and how you can deal with common messaging challenges related to global-facing R&D
- How the R&D and development sectors can build on this work to forge stronger connections with the public that will help build trust, and secure political support
