Commenting on the outcome of the 2024 General Election:
Initial response to the 2024 General Election result
05 Jul 2024
“With this election result the new Labour Government led by Sir Keir Starmer has a real opportunity to drive change in the UK. I look forward to working with the new Government, on behalf of CaSE members, to ensure that research and development is at the heart of their plans for economic growth.
“Science, engineering, and broader R&D are huge assets for the UK’s ability to innovate and produce economic growth, whilst at the same time holding strong support from the public. In the election campaign, the Labour party recognised this fantastic tool at their disposal. By working together with us, and the wider R&D sector, we can all make the most of the opportunities ahead for R&D to improve the lives and livelihoods of people across the UK.”
