CaSE welcomes Imperial College London as members
10 Mar 2015
Located in the heart of London, it is a multidisciplinary space for education, research, translation and commercialisation, harnessing science and innovation to tackle global challenges. Imperial’s Provost, James Stirling, describes their decision to join:
“Imperial College is delighted to join CaSE as this will be a crucial year for decisions about the scale of public funding for research, on whether the Government in practice will uphold the Haldane Principle in reaching decisions on funding, and on whether such funding will be awarded – as it should – based on the criterion of excellence.
The benefits for the UK economy and society in investing in world class research have never been greater – Imperial College welcomes the opportunity to work with CaSE in securing support for science and engineering research from as wide a range of partners as possible.”
CaSE Acting Director Naomi Weir said:
“We are extremely pleased to welcome Imperial College as members. CaSE’s strength and mandate to speak on behalf of the science and engineering community comes from the breadth of our membership and Imperial are a crucial part of this diverse sector. We look forward to working with them to present a strong, united voice for science and engineering during this important General Election year and beyond.”
CaSE are keen to ensure the needs of the whole science and engineering community are being heard at the highest levels of government.
