In the letter we expressed our concern at the 32% (£41 million) cut to the budget of the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales (HEFCW) proposed in the Welsh Government’s draft Budget in December.
The letter was supported by the Royal Society of Chemistry, the Association of Medical Research Charities, the Royal Society, the Institute of Physics, the Institution of Chemical Engineers, the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, the Royal Society of Biology and the Learned Society of Wales.
