CaSE submission to ‘ARPA’ consultation

In the 2020 Spring Budget, the UK Government pledged £800m to create a new research funding agency, broadly modelled on the US ARPA. Our submission to the Science and Technology Committee’s inquiry primarily focused on highlighting some of the questions that still remain over the proposed funding agency. Throughout are examples and characteristics of the US ARPA and how the UK Government may seek to decide to set the direction for its own research agency.
