Who we are

Daniel is Interim Executive Director of CaSE. Prior to this he was Deputy Executive Director of the Campaign for Science and Engineering with responsibility for Policy and Operations. He works with CaSE members and stakeholders across the sector to advance CaSE’s policy agenda and provides analysis on major fiscal and policy announcements. Daniel also works with the Executive Director to set the strategic direction of CaSE and was integral to securing the three-year grant to fund the exciting Discovery Decade project exploring public support for R&D. Daniel has a background across the physical sciences with a PhD from Imperial College London. He has previously worked for the House of Lords Science and Technology Committee and the House of Commons Library.

Ben joined CaSE in August 2021 and oversees the day-to-day operations of the Discovery Decade project. The project aims to attract a new, broader base of public supporters who can help make R&D investment a political priority. He’s previously held roles at the Wellcome Trust, Academy of Medical Sciences and the Medical Research Council, having completed a PhD at Imperial College London in virology

Henry joined CaSE in February 2020. In this role, he works with the CaSE membership and stake holders to help deliver CaSE’s aims and objectives. Prior to joining, Henry worked as a Regional Engagement Officer for the Chartered Institution for Highways and Transportation and has a Masters in Chemical Engineering from Loughborough University.

Andy joined CaSE in September 2022 as Communications Manager. In this role, he will be responsible for managing external communications on behalf of CaSE, through its events, media work, web presence and online output, as well as supporting CaSE’s membership and political engagement. Prior to joining, Andy worked as a Media Projects Officer for the Science Media Centre and has Masters degrees in Physics and Science Communication from Aberystwyth University and Cardiff University respectively.

Camilla joined CaSE in June 2022 as Policy Officer. In this role, she will be working together with the head of policy to shape and deliver CaSE’s policy agenda. Previously, Camilla worked as a Senior Analyst at RAND Europe, focusing on science and technology policy. Before that, she also held roles at the European Commission and Science Media Centre. Camilla holds a PhD in Experimental Psychology from the University of Cambridge.

Rebecca joined CaSE in April 2022 and will be supporting delivery of the Discovery Decade project. The project aims to help create a compelling vision for R&D in the UK, to attract a broader base of public supporters. She previously worked in policy positions at Cancer Research UK and Full Fact, and before that was a journalist at publications including Research Fortnight. She has a PhD in molecular biology from the University of Sheffield.

Nesh joined CaSE in October 2022 as Office Manager. She is responsible for CaSE’s governance, human resources, and management of the office. Nesh has over 15 years’ experience in all aspects of office management, HR, and event planning.
