30 Oct 2018

CaSE are delighted to welcome the University of Leeds and the Engineering Professors’ Council as new organisational members.

Commenting on the announcement, Dr Sarah Main, Executive Director of the Campaign for the Science and Engineering, said:

“I am delighted to welcome the University of Leeds and the Engineering Professors’ Council as organisational members. CaSE’s mandate to speak on behalf of the science and engineering community comes from the breadth of our membership, which includes research-intensive universities and professional institutes. We look forward to working with Leeds and the EPC to ensure that science and engineering are able to make their full contribution to the UK’s future health.”

Professor Lisa Roberts, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research and Innovation, University of Leeds:

“We recognise the importance of CaSE being an ambassador for science and engineering. We need to continue investing in skills, funding opportunities and policies to support the UK’s strengths in research and innovation.

Our researchers, and our next generation of critical thinkers here at Leeds, are essential to the UK’s economy and are committed to making a difference to the world we live in. Being a CaSE member will help us play our role in championing the UK remaining at the forefront of science and engineering across the world.”

Johnny Rich, Chief Executive, Engineering Professors’ Council:

“The aims and work of CaSE are closely aligned with our campaigning goals as the voice of engineering academics in the UK. When we join forces with those who share our goals, we speak more loudly and we are heard more clearly. Joining CaSE cements a partnership of campaigning together in the past and we look forward to growing our impact and theirs by working together.”

About the Engineering Professors’ Council

The Engineering Professors’ Council (EPC) is the representative body for engineering in higher education. Our primary purpose is to provide a forum through which engineers working in UK higher education can exchange ideas about engineering education, research and other matters of common interest and to come together to provide an influential voice and authoritative conduit through which engineering departments’ interests can be represented to key audiences such as funders, influencers, employers, professional bodies and Government.
