The Campaign for Science and Engineering (CaSE) is excited to welcome Frontiers to its growing membership.
Frontiers joins CaSE
26 Jan 2023
Frontiers is a leading science publisher and open access platform. It is the 6th largest and the 3rd most cited research publisher in the world. Its mission is to make science open, so that scientists can collaborate better and innovate faster to deliver solutions for healthy lives on a healthy planet.
Commenting on the announcement, Professor Sarah Main, Executive Director of CaSE, said:
“I am delighted to welcome Frontiers into the CaSE membership. They are an organisation pushing the boundaries of the scientific publishing world. They share our desire for science to reach wide audiences and to play a central role in solving the challenges facing society.
“Having members from the breadth of the research sector is a great asset to our work, at a time when we feel it is more important than ever. My team and I look forward to learning from and collaborating with Frontiers over the coming years.”
Stephan Kuster, head of public affairs at Frontiers, said:
“We are really pleased to be members of CaSE. We share a vision of the UK as a science superpower. We have published some of the UK’s leading scientific research and supported its authors by making it globally shared, free to read and open to all. At Frontiers, we want to see all science open, so that scientists can collaborate better and innovate faster, for fairer outcomes in all parts of society. That’s our social purpose as a business.
“As we work with CaSE to drive the investment and policy needed by academia, industry, and researchers, we look forward to expanding our efforts for truly open science. Reversing global, existential threats – from health emergencies to climate change – will require political will, global collaboration, and scientific breakthrough at a scale not yet seen. On each of these counts, success will depend on the widespread sharing of the latest scientific knowledge. All of it.”
