CaSE welcomes Northumbria University
17 Jun 2015
The University carries out ground-breaking research that is responsive to the science & technology, health & well being, economic and social and arts & cultural needs for the communities.
The University’s Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive, Professor Andrew Wathey, commented on its decision to join:
“Northumbria University is pleased to support CaSE in its work to promote science and engineering. These areas are of real significance to us in our core activities of teaching, research and enterprise, and also underpin the wider development of the economy, which is important to us as a business-focused institution.
We have a long tradition in science and engineering at Northumbria, and continue to innovate, as exemplified by our Think Physics project, which aims to draw more women into Physics.”
Acting Director Naomi Weir says:
“We are extremely pleased to welcome Northumbria University as organisational members. CaSE’s mandate to speak on behalf of the science and engineering community comes from the breadth of our membership, this includes having a geographically diverse representation across the UK. We look forward to working with Northumbria to ensure their voice is carried within our message and that science and engineering are able to make their full contribution in every region of the UK.”
CaSE are keen to ensure the needs of the whole science and engineering community are being heard at the highest levels of government.
