The Chancellor has announced his intention to hold a budget on 11 March 2020. CaSE believes that
this provides the perfect opportunity for significant announcements on increased public investment

Government must also set out plans on how it intends to meet the target of 2.4% of GDP to be spent
on Research and Development (R&D) to provide greater long-term certainty to the scientific
community.
